We were very sad to hear that Alistair Smith passed away yesterday. Alastair was a great club member for many years – guiding, advising, spannering, driving; He was a man of many talents. The following was posted today by his son:
"Last night I received the most difficult call I’ve ever had to take.
Dad passed away last night 18-2-22 after a very short fight with a brain tumour. He was a much loved dad, husband & brother and to me way more than just dad, he was a best friend. He leaves behind a huge hole in our world that will never be filled. Rest easy Dad.
❤ On behalf of the family thank you to everyone who helped over the short period we had with him. I will update everyone with the funeral arrangements as they develop. ❤"
Our sincere condolences to all his family and friends.
My sincerest condolences to Alistair’s family. Yet another stalwart of the club. I knew Alistair both as a club member and also as a colleague in the same line of business for a number of years. It always hits home when people of your own generation pass on.
My thoughts are with his family today.
Rest in peace Alistair.
