1. SSCC Winter Autosolo/Autotest/PCA 2: Results
The results for last Saturday’s event at Irvine Bay Events, Ardeer, are attached. We hope you all enjoyed the competition and we’ll see you on future occasions. As ever with these events, very many thanks indeed to Jim Crossan and Irvine Bay Events for the use of the Ardeer site and all their help throughout the past (and previous) seasons. Our congratulations to the individual event winners:
Autosolo: Paul Davidson
Autotest: Bob Mather
First Beginner: Wee Danny Clark
As usual, if there are any queries or explanation required as to how the results are calculated please don’t hesitate to contact me (but first see the footnote at the bottom of the document for an explanation of the various symbols used). Basically, the results are given in terms of the number of seconds (and fraction) taken to complete a test, and penalties (hitting a pylon, going over the baulk line) are calculated at 5 seconds per pylon/line. A # symbol means that that time and penalties have been dropped from the calculation (we discount the slowest time from each group of tests).
2. Forthcoming Events – Competitions:
Sunday 1 December: final rounds of the Scottish Road Car and the Scottish Street Car Series 2019 organised by East Ayrshire Car Club at Kames Motorsport Complex, Muirkirk.
3. Forthcoming Events – Marshalling:
Monday 9 December: Le Jog (Lands End to John o’ Groats event for pre-1986 cars) with test sections at very early o’clock at Kames Motorsport Complex (organised by East Ayrshire CC) and from 10:30 at Loch Lomond Shores (organised by Scottish Sporting Car Club). As ever, marshals needed – volunteers please contact Alistair Reid (email email@example.com ) for details.
4. Next Season 2020
Motorsport UK Licences: from 1 January 2020 everyone over age 18 competing in motorsport events will have to hold a MsUK licence in addition to their club membership card. However the basic grade of licence, the RS Clubman, is free and can be obtained by completing a short form on the Motorsport UK website at www.motorsportuk.org (on the MsUK Home Page, under the “Membership” menu look for “2020 RS Clubman Licence”). Although it will be possible to complete an application form at signing-on, please help us to help you by getting your RS licence NOW and thereby avoid complications at signing-on next year.
Friday 7 February 2020: Scottish Sporting Car Club AGM and Prizegiving for the 2019 season, from 19:30 in the Blythswood Square Hotel, Glasgow (the former RSAC building). Notices nearer the time, but it’s always a good evening so please put the date in your diary now.
We look forward to seeing you at one or other (or all!) of the above events.
