Before the end of the year there are still plenty of events that will only run if they get the assistance from the ever dedicated marshals. We are always looking for fresh faces and it is a wonderful way to get involved, get close to the action and not pay any entry fees.
Here is a list of what is coming up:
16th and 17th September – Doune Hill Climb – marshals get £15 each day towards their expenses.
23rd September – McRae Rally Challenge – We will be running the regroup area so a chance to get up close to the cars and crews. Free parking for marshals. Signing on 12:00 with first car due 13:59. Come earlier and you are within an easy walk to see the cars going through the first stage. Time of first car 11:45.
24th September – Albar Trophy Rally, Kames – an event for both senior and junior competitors using the Kames Motorsport Complex. A free lunch is provided at their Café.
30th September – Autumn AutoTest/AutoSolo/PCA – This will be held at Ardeer with signing on from 10:30 with the first run at 11:30. Marshals will get a free snack lunch (filled roll, crisps, tea/coffee/softdrink).
1st October – XBC Sprint, Kames – Back to Kames for the last sprint of the season. Signing on by 09:00. Free lunch at the café plus £10 towards your expenses.
8th October – Car Trial, Forrestburn – This is one I compete in with my Toyota Aygo. A competition to see how far you can get up a grass hill. This is not a speed event, more driving skill getting traction over slippery slopes. Run by Monklands Sporting Car Club at there hill climb complex , they are always looking for entries and marshals.
21st October – Rally Training, Knockhill – A chance to learn about marshalling at rallies or for more experienced marshals to hone their skills.
28th October – AutoTest/AutoSolo/PCA – This time at Malcolm’s yard in Johnstone. Details to be confirmed.
5th November – Car Trial, Forrestburn – a second chance to try our car trialling or marshalling.
11th November – Crail Stages Rally – A tarmac rally at the old Crail airdrome. This is always fast and furious with cars starting at 30 second intervals.
18th and 19th November – Scottish Border Hill Rally – Held at Forest Estate near St Johns Town of Dalry, this is a rally for offroaders. I will be running the service area and will need marshals on both the Saturday and Sunday to run the various in and out controls. A very different event from the normal rally. Well worth coming down for.
25th November – AutoTest/AutoSolo/PCA – Back to Ardeer for the last test of the year. Details to follow
If you are interested in joining me at any of these events, please get in touch by email, text or phone. You will always be welcome.
